Many of the vinyl recordings are actually transcribed from older 78s. From the soulful Macedonian, happy-happy Croatian, to the furious Russian-Ukranian melodies this music makes wonderful listening, but most importantly it demands to be danced. The 78RPM recordings often have a vigor and life unsurpassed by modern recordings. This is because they could not edit them, and so they had to record them in a complete take. This helped give the music an edge because the musicians were under pressure similat to that in a live performance.

II. High Weirdness.

Diamagnets repel, and are repelled by a strong magnetic field. Two of the strongest diamagnetic materials are graphite and bismuth. The forces created by diamagnetism are extremely weak, millions of times smaller than the forces between magnets and such common ferromagnetic materials as iron. However, in certain carefully arranged situations, the influence of diamagnetic materials can produce startling effects such as levitation. Today’s science knows only one way to achieve REAL levitation, i.e. such that no energy input is required and the levitation can last forever. The real levitation makes use of diamagnetism , an intrinsic property of many materials referring to their ability to expel a portion, even if a minute one, of an external magnetic field. Electrons in such materials rearrange their orbits slightly so that they expel the external field. As a result, diamagnetic materials repel and are repelled by strong magnetic fields.

Prior to his incarceration, Fleet received extensive training as a meditation instructor under the guidance of Tibetan meditation master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. With a combination of static and dynamic magnetic field, the EMAT can transform the electromagnetic energy into acoustic energy. The EMAT requires no coupling medium and can operate with a high speed or elevated temperature. Besides, the EMAT can generate a variety of wave-modes more easily. However, the signal-to-noise ratio of EMAT is relatively low and the EMAT is sensitive to the variation of the lift-off.

Gradient-recalled images were acquired at 8 T (340 MHz) using an RF resonator operating in quadrature. Typical acquisition parameters were as follows: TR = 750 ms, TE = 17 ms, slice thickness = 2 mm, FOV = 20 x 20 cm, matrix = 1,024 x 1,024. The specific absorption rate was well below 1 W/kg.A simple analytical treatment, for a plane wave up to 900 MHz, reveals a lack of decreasing penetration depth with frequency beyond 200 MHz. Gradient-recalled echo images acquired from the human head displayed good contrast, homogeneity, and resolution. Importantly, excellent structural detail was observed on the resulting MR images, demonstrating that RF penetration is not a problem at 8 T. Images reveal excellent detail including the red nucleus, anterior commissure, fornix, mamillary body, pineal gland, and ependymal lining of the fourth ventricle. Structures located at the center of the human brain can be clearly visualized at 8 T with no detectable loss in signal intensity arising from RF penetration. The ability to examine these structures with UHFMRI will provide a powerful new modality for diagnostic radiology.

This enables them to control how the scallop shells open and close – and ultimately how the device moves – by applying an external magnetic field. Indeed, a scallop-shaped miniature submarine could also be driven by an actuator that responds, for example, to temperature changes.

A: Depends on which list you’re looking at. Some Californians still don’t realize that there is a Central  California, and a Central Coast, and that these areas are neither north nor south, but a blend of the two.  Example: San Simeon already looks like Santa Cruz, north of it, and Santa Barbara already looks like L. A., and Ventura, south of it, is basically already part of L.A. But San Luis Obispo, in the middle, looks only like itself, and there is not other place that has, e.g., redwood, pine, palm, oak, and fig trees all in  one place at the same time.

A: Unfortunately, there are tons of them. One of our facebook friends regularly sends us new videos of this sort of  thing, and the audio is grim, space opera overblown electronic music, with ridiculous narrations, if any,  and so on.

A: Surrealism began primarily as a literary movement based on radical ideas gaining momentum in the  1920s. Naturally, where words flow, images swim congruently, and it is perhaps for the many paintings  and ‘graphic works’ associated with the movement that Surrealism has received much of its notoriety. However, judge the basis of Surrealism not by what has been and yet remains to be written about the  movement, but by  what has been done and yet remains to be accomplished using the  mechanisms inherent in the Vice of Surrealism.

A: Very sad. Yes, it is true; and he was a Saint.
